THE RULES

All our events play by the 3 F's (no not those F's….)

Fun! If you are looking for a serious, big money, three day long tournament then you're in the wrong place! At Ipswich PubPoker fun comes first and foremost!

Friendly! Everyone has the right to play their game in a friendly atmosphere. We will not accept bullying, intimidation or criticism at our events! If a player decides to call your all-in re-raise with 7-3 offsuit, only to hit a flush on the river - that's up to them! Yes this will happen and yes this is annoying. Deal with it, accept it - and move on!

Fair! In order to keep things fair we have our own set of House Rules (below) and we play all our league events in accordance with Robert's Rules. For all of you that haven't heard, Robert's Rules are considered to be the most definitive poker rules, and as such are used as a basis for the WPT and WSOP rules.

A full copy of our version of Robert's Rules can be downloaded here (pdf file).

House Rules

Cards must remain on the table at all times, except when looking at them.

Verbal statements are binding. If a player verbally declares a fold, check, call, raise the action is binding. A player who checks out of turn may not bet or raise on the next turn to act but may call. A player who has called out of turn may not change the wager to a raise under any circumstances. Players may not say, "I will call and raise" In this event the action will be declared a call.

A tap on the table will be interpreted as a check.

Cards speak. Verbal declarations of a hand are not binding.

Players must take responsibility of holding onto their cards until the showdown and winner is declared.

Show one - show all. Players are entitled to receive equal access to information about the contents of another player's hand when the hand is complete.

Splashing the pot is not allowed. All bets must be placed in front of the player so everyone can see how many chips have been bet.

Absolutely NO Rabbit Hunting (i.e. let's just see what would have come next….) This slows down the game and gives players information which they have not paid to see.

Players leaving the table outside of a break will have their blinds posted and cards folded.

The table must be kept tidy at all times to avoid any confusion. Once a round of betting has concluded all chips are to be placed in the centre of the table. All burn cards should be placed face down and all mucked cards must be placed under the dealer button.

The Dealer is in charge of the table. It is the Dealers responsibility to maintain a tidy table and to resolve split pots. If they are unable to do so then the tournament director will be on hand to help.

When players are knocked out of the tournament in a blind or dealer position the "dead button rule" applies (the tournament director will be on hand to explain this).

When consolidating tables the tournament director will allocate your new position. You will take over all obligations of the position, including small and big blind.

When heads up the dealer is small blind (always and without exception!) The dead button rule is used to avoid any player being the Big blind twice!

Harassment, bullying or discrimination will not be tolerated at the tables. Players must be able to play their hands and follow play (i.e. not get too drunk!). All players have the right to feel comfortable at the table, and the tournament director has the right to ask any player to leave the game. Friendly banter however, is actively encouraged!

The Tournament Director is there to ensure fair play for all players. The Tournament Director's decision is final. The decision may not follow the rules rigidly but will be made in accordance with what is deemed to be the fairest way of settling any issues arising.
